11. How are children supported when they join the school, leave the school or move classes?
At Pilsley we are mindful of the impact of starting or moving school or class can have on children and their families. We have a range of transition plans to meet the individual needs of children as they arise. Teachers prepare whole classes for transition including transfer of all key information to the next teacher. The pastoral manager, specialist teacher and teaching assistants prepare children who are more vulnerable for a range of reasons for changes in their care and education. These transition programmes are individualised and can be delivered 1:1 or in small groups, sometimes these programmes are designed in collaboration with other professionals such as the Educational Psychologist, Speech Therapist or CAMHS Team.
