Behaviour

It is a primary aim of Pilsley Primary School that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. The school’s behavioural approach is therefore designed to support the way in which all members of the school can work together in a positive way. It aims to promote an environment in which everyone feels happy and stimulated. We want our pupils to grow in a safe and secure environment, and to become positive, responsible and increasingly independent members of the school community.

The school recognises and promotes positive behaviour at all time, as it believes that this will develop an ethos of kindness, cooperation and achievement. Our approach is designed to teach and encourage outstanding learning and social behaviour, rather than merely deter disruptive or anti-social behaviour. In particular, we recognise the need to promote mental health and well-being and to prevent all forms of bullying.

The school holds the STOP Anti-Bullying award for Derbyshire.  However, we continue to work to refine our approach and tailor the support each and every pupil requires.
