Music
As an integral part of our lives and culture, both past and present, music helps your child to understand themselves and relate to others. Music brings together personal expression and reflection and is key in your child’s emotional development.
The aim of our music curriculum is to develop your child’s appreciation of the different ways sounds can be organised, giving them a glimpse into the many forms and styles that music can take. The teaching of music helps children to listen and make judgements about musical quality, encourages an active involvement in both performing individually or as part of a group, and also promotes creativity as they compose their own music.
It also provides a great deal of fun!
We use an adapted version of the Charanga music curriculum to meet these aims.
