Physical Education

The P.E. and Games curriculum develops your child’s skills and confidence through a range of activities that allows them to improve their personal performance.

We provide opportunities for pupils to be creative, competitive and to face up to different challenges both as individuals and in groups and teams.

Through finding enjoyment at whatever level P.E. and Games promotes positive attitudes towards an active and healthy lifestyle. We aim for pupils to develop their abilities, preferences and make choices about how to get involved in lifelong physical activity.

PE activities include dance, team games (football, netball, cricket, etc,), gymnastics, swimming, athletics and both outdoor and adventurous activities.  In addition, we use an 'in class' ten minute exercise routine to get the children active during other subject lessons.

We are also an active member with the School Sport Partnership for Bolsover schools as well as having a very strong link with Tibshelf Community School and their sporting specialism.  This gains us access to high quality coaching and competitive sport opportunities usually in team but sometimes individual competitions.

The school employs a Sports Coach for four lunchtimes a week to engage all the children in active, fun sport which the children can choose to engage with (or not) from day to day.

Currently we use an adapted version of the Move curriculum to meet our aims.
